Earlier today in an interview with the BBC, White House deputy adviser Sebastian Gorka dismissed Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’sreassurances to Americans over the rising tension between North Korea and the United States.

Gorka stated that it was “simply nonsensical” that Tillerson would discuss military matters while essentially doubling down on the strong language issued by President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary James Mattis. Meanwhile, during an appearance on Fox & Friendsyesterday, Gorka likened the current standoff between North Korea and the US to the Cuban missile crisis.

Regarding Gorka’s public undercutting of the nation’s top diplomat, CNN anchor Jake Tapper remarked that “normally” you don’t see White House staffers taking shots at a secretary of state. But, of course, this White House is a lot different than its predecessors.
