Gore Rips Trump and ‘Wild’ White House Dysfunction: ‘It’s Deeply Troubling’ (Mediaite)

In advance of An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power‘s nationwide release on Friday, former Vice President Al Gore is making the promotional rounds. And during a Wednesday spot on MSNBC, Gore blasted President Donald Trump and the White House at large for being dysfunctional.

Appearing on All In with Chris Hayes, the former Vice President said that the White House palace intrigue is getting in the way of far more serious issues.

“It’s deeply troubling,” Gore said. “And for me, the most troubling part of it is that it serves as a set of constant distractions from the problems we should be addressing. Nothing’s getting done.”

Earlier in the segment, Gore spoke about his disappointment in Trump for withdrawing from the Paris climate Accord.

“I had reason to believe that there was an excellent chance that the president would stay in the Paris agreement, that he would come to his senses,” Gore said. “But I was wrong. Because he has surrounded himself with rogues gallery of climate deniers. And even though there are those in his inner circle who wanted him to do the right thing on climate, they were outweighed, outtalked by the climate deniers.”
