WALTER: "I think for a lot of Republicans it’s like asking the question of, do you want to chew glass or poke a needle in your eye? Which one is less painful to do? Nobody like this bill. Voters don’t like it. Megan’s right, people within the caucus don’t like it, and within the Republican caucus don’t like it. Nobody really wants to vote on something, but they promised that they would vote for something. And then the most important thing then, if you’re going to vote for something that nobody likes and you don’t even particularly like very well as a member of Congress, how do you go out and defend it in the next election? And that’s the real challenge here too."
