Krauthammer: We Have to Get Somewhere with China or We’ll Be Looking Down the Barrel of N. Korean ICBM and Nuke

‘The Chinese are trying to drive us out of the Pacific rim’

EXCERPT:

KRAUTHAMMER: "The Chinese are trying to drive us out of the Pacific Rim. That’s what all the island building is about. That’s what the aircraft carriers are about. That’s what their threats are about. And that’s why they are not going to give up on North Korea. They clearly are a challenge. We are going to have to meet it on the ground and the Russians of course are challenging NATO expansion, our alliance with — semi-alliance with Ukraine and protection of the Baltic states. That’s the challenge for the United States in this era and thus far I think the President has had the right things. He’s been advocating for the right policy, but thus far, particularly with China, the reliance on their goodwill and friendship that he struck up with President Xi is a pretty weak read. We haven’t gotten anywhere yet and we will have to get somewhere soon or we are going to be looking down the barrel of a North Korean ICBM with a nuclear warhead on it.”
