EXCERPT:

SANDERS: "What I said on 'Meet the Press' is that if this legislation is passed, many thousands of Americans will die. Because you can’t throw 23 million people off of health insurance, people who have cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and not see increased deaths. PolitiFact studied the issue and they looked at about a dozen different studies. And do you know what all the studies concluded? Thousands of people will actually die. That’s not Bernie Sanders. That is doctors, scientists who look at this issue. That’s the kind of outrage that we’re looking at, seeing up to 28,000 people die each year if you throw 23 million people off of health insurance in order to give $500 billion in tax breaks to the richest 2 percent, insurance companies and drug companies. That is beyond obscene and that is something that cannot be allowed to pass. And I think the American people all over this country are rising up. As you may know, last weekend I was in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia — tremendous opposition there to this legislation."
