Todd Akin Defends Rape Comments, Slams Clinton Over ‘History of Sexual Abuse’

‘I think the Democratic party is the one cheering the War on Women’

Todd Akin Defends Self on Fox, Hits Bill Clinton over ‘History of Sexual Abuse’ (Mediaite)

Todd Akin, who was running a fierce election race in 2012 until his mouth found a way to shut that whole thing down, stopped by The Kelly Filetonight to defend himself, but he also took a shot at Democrats he said are hypocrites because they went after him but ignored Bill Clinton‘s “history of sexual abuse.”

Akin charged that Clinton “has a long history of sexual abuse and indecency,” and asked, “What’s worse, saying a few words, or actually having a long history of abusive behavior against women?” He said that combined with Hillary Clinton laughing about a rape case she took shows a “Democrat war on women.”

Throughout the rest of the interview, Megyn Kelly grilled him over that infamous “legitimate rape’ remark and exactly what he meant by it. Akin insisted his comment was taken to an “absurd level,” including by the “party bosses” on the GOP, and said that “nothing I said meant to diminish women.”
