Tucker Carlson Weighs in on Eichenwald’s Porn Caper: ‘This is a Troubled Man…He Needs Help’ (Mediaite)

Despite getting into a memorably nasty skirmish with him last year, Tucker Carlson had no interest in kicking Kurt Eichenwald while he was down Thursday.

A day earlier, Eichenwald — a Newsweek senior writer and MSNBC contributor  — was subject to ridicule on social media after he accidentally tweeted a screenshot which showed him to be surfing anime porn. He later offered a convoluted explanation for the porn tab appearing on his screen, and was subject to even more ridicule as a result.

But Carlson took a sympathetic tone.

“For real, this is a troubled man,” Carlson said. “It doesn’t help Kurt Eichenwald to pretend he is okay. He is not okay. He should not be on Twitter, he needs help.”

Carlson saved his scorn for Newsweek and MSNBC, who are both exploiting Eichenwald, in Carlson’s view.

“Newsweek gets clicks, MSNBC gets viewers,” Carlson said. “It’s awful. They’re exploiting him. It’s cruel. So these supposedly news organizations, a plea, for real: Stop Kurt Eichenwald before he tweets again. He will thank you later for that if you do.”
