MSNBC's Katy Tur Frets: Trump Links To "Unverified Reports" On Drudge Report (RealClearPolitics)

On Monday, MSNBC's Katy Tur expressed concern for what sources President Trump uses to report on attacks committed by terrorists. Tur, speaking about the London Bridge attack, was troubled that Trump would retweet the @drudge_report account, categorizing it as an "unverified report." Soon after Drudge reported on the breaking news, news outlets around the world confirmed the terror attack.

"I think it's pretty clear that he's never going to be the traditional president, that he's going to tweet what he thinks before he may really think about what he wants to say. We saw that over the weekend," Tur said.

"You're talking about him tweeting out a link to the Drudge Report instead of waiting and relying on his own team of national security advisers who have all the information before he is tweeting it out -- instead, linking to unverified reports -- that would be in his own self-interest to promote this travel ban," Tur said to Washington Post scribe Philip Rucker.
