Jake Sherman: ‘Incumbent’ upon GOP to Keep the Government Open

‘They’re going to pass a short-term bill which funds the government until next week’

EXCERPT:

SHERMAN: "I actually agree with Nancy Pelosi, I think, because Republicans do control the House, the Senate and the white House. So it’s incumbent upon them to keep government open. They’re going to pass a short-term bill which funds the government until next week, and then these negotiations over a longer-term funding agreement, probably anywhere from a couple months until October will take place next week. Donald Trump’s tweets in that House, Chuck Schumer’s spokesman is right, that’s not where the negotiations are or anywhere close. That's just blaming Democrats based on a couple peripheral issues. This is mostly tied up.”
