Charlie Dent: Kim Jong Un Is ‘Erratic’ But Not ‘Completely Irrational Either’

‘I do not believe that Kim Jong-un would necessarily launch a preemptive conventional attack on the south’

EXCERPT:

DENT: "I do not believe that Kim Jong-un would necessarily launch a preemptive conventional attack on the south. I don’t think he can sustain a war against South Korea. I think he would lose and he would lose his regime as a result. But I am worried about asymmetrical attacks whether they'd be cyber, nuclear. That is I think our principal concern. That regime is very fragile in North Korea. And so, while he is erratic, I don’t think he is completely irrational either. He knows that he’s in a very tenuous and fragile position, that there is -- sooner or later there’s an inevitability that that regime collapsing in some type of reunification of the Korean peninsula."
