Dan Sullivan on W. H. North Korea Briefing: It Was a ‘Useful But Sobering Meeting’

‘The threat with regard to North Korea has moved to a different level, a more direct level’

EXCERPT:

SULLIVAN: “I thought it was actually useful but it was a sobering meeting. I think the threat with regard to North Korea has moved to a different level, a more direct level. The erratic behavior of the leader is continuing, but it’s been stated publicly and it was stated again, it’s not a matter of if, but when he’s likely to have the capability to launch intercontinental ballistic nuclear missile that can reach the United States. So from the perspective of trying to get a common understanding with all the senators, of course we have a role to play. We’re most effective in terms of foreign policy when the executive branch, the legislative branch, Democrats and Republicans are working together on serious national security threats. That was the goal. From that perspective, I think it was useful.”
