Eugene Robinson: ‘The Democratic Party’s Problem Right Now Is It’s Too Small’

‘It doesn’t hold enough offices, especially on a state level’

EXCERPT:

ROBINSON: “The Democratic Party’s problem right now is that it’s too small. It doesn’t hold enough offices, especially on a state level where it just kind of got wiped out, and it lost both Houses of Congress. If it’s going to recover, it’s going to do it by getting better and it’s going to make a bigger tent. So that means a 50-state strategy. It’s certainly a lot more than the sort of bi-coastal strategy that it has now. So it’s going to have to accommodate different views or at least nuances of views. It doesn’t sound like this candidate is totally off the reservation in terms of being pro-choice.”
