PERSON: Dianne Williams


Biography

Dianne Williams is a common sense Conservative and a long-time resident and community leader in HD 149. After a 31 year career as an educator, Dianne believes that the position of State Representative is a continuation of her service to her community and state. She wants to do the right thing, not pave the way for re-election or her own career.<br> <br> Dianne Believes:<br> <br> Dianne values life from conception to natural death. Tax payer dollars must not go to fund abortions. Dianne believes in the value of all people and the contribution they can make to our community.<br> <br> Dianne strongly believes in self responsibility and the right of all people to pursue their lives without unnecessary govenment regulation.<br> <br> Dianne believes in small government and our Free Enterprise System.<br> <br> Dianne has had a successful 31 year career as an educator and understands that our current system is no longer effective for many of our children. We are at the point of deminishing return on our funding. It is time to deregulate education and allow innovation, free-enterprise and parent choice to correct the course.<br> <br> Government has grown too large and has become a threat to all of us.<br> <br> Dianne believes that entitlement programs must be protected for those that truly need a hand up. Theft from the needy should be strongly prosecuted.<br> <br> We must turn off the magnet that attracts drug cartels and criminals to our neighborhoods.<br> <br> Dianne has the life experience and common sense to wisely cut spending and preserve needed services, like public safety and infrastructure.<br> <br> Dianne will support securing the borders and common sense solutions for illegal immigration.<br> <br> Dianne will support legislation that protects business from over regulation and additional taxation.<br> <br> Dianne will support the appropriate funding of education.<br> <br> Dianne Williams is a fifth generation Texan.<br> <br> Dianne’s father was a welder at the Phillips Refinery, he helped build during WWII to provide fuel for the war.<br> <br> Dianne’s Mother was a stay-at-home mother.<br> <br> Dianne currently resides in Harris County and has lived in House District 149 for over 30 years.<br> <br> Dianne grew up in Old Ocean, Texas and graduated from Sweeny Hight School.<br> <br> Dianne retired from Alief ISD as a school counselor. She has experience as a teacher, consultant, meeting facilitator, and counselor of all levels.<br> <br> Retired from Alief ISD after 31 Years as Educator
