Biography

Stephen Duprey is a native of New Hampshire. He graduated from New College in Sarasota, Fla. in 1974 with a BA in Public Policy and from Cornell University Law School in 1978 with a Juris Doctorate degree.

Duprey practiced law at the Concord New Hampshire firm of Sulloway, Hollis & Soden. In 1987 he began full time employment with his own companies developing and managing real estate throughout New Hampshire.

Duprey was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives at age 19 in 1972 and served two terms. He served as Finance Chair and as Chairman of the Republican State Committee (the longest serving Chairman in the history of the party, from 1993-2001). Duprey also served as Finance Chair to Senator Kelly Ayotte and as a member of the McCain for Senate Finance Committee. He has served as Campaign Chair or Finance Chair for Gregg for Senate, Bob Smith for Senate, Merrill for Governor, Benson for Governor as well as for various House campaigns. He served on the Board of Directors of McCain for President in 2006 and 2007 and traveled full time as a senior advisor to John McCain from 2007 through 2008.

Duprey has been active in local and state community service in New Hampshire, serving on numerous boards and committees. He is married to Susan Vercillo Duprey, a prominent attorney in Manchester New Hampshire. Susan Duprey has been active in numerous political campaigns including co-chairing the President George Bush re-election effort in New Hampshire in 2004. In 2011 and 2012 she served as Chief of Staff to Ann Romney. Steve and Susan have three sons Thad, Sam and Luke.
