Scott Friedman leads the NBC 5 Investigates team. He has been with NBC 5 since May 2006. Friedman’s reporting expertise in covering American Airlines led to NBC 5 breaking the news of the company’s bankruptcy filing, as well as stories about layoffs and job cuts affecting thousands of airline employees. Scott has received four Chicago Regional Emmy Award nominations for news writing, hard news reporting and coverage of a breaking story. He's been recognized with awards for investigative reporting from The Milwaukee Press Club (three for best investigative report), The Wisconsin Broadcaster's Association (three for best hard news story) and The Associated Press of Wisconsin. Scott received the Texas Freedom of Information Award that is presented annually by the Texas AP Broadcasters in conjunction with the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas.
