Joy Behar to Gillibrand: ‘Unfair’ to Make an Example of Franken When Trump Has So Many Allegations

BEHAR Because I know ░░░░░░░░ you led the charge ░░░░░░░░ get Al Franken to ░░░░░░░░ from the Senate I ░░░░░░░░ thought that was unfair ░░░░░░░░ make him an example ░░░░░░░░ the President of United ░░░░░░░░ so many allegations of ░░░░░░░░ harassment against him and ░░░░░░░░ don t see him ░░░░░░░░ anywhere And when you ░░░░░░░░ to some of these ░░░░░░░░ pundits talk about it ░░░░░░░░ s like Well it ░░░░░░░░ just an allegation I ░░░░░░░░ it was even Jerry ░░░░░░░░ Jr who was saying ░░░░░░░░ Trump it s an ░░░░░░░░ he says he didn ░░░░░░░░ do it so he ░░░░░░░░ forgiven And Al Franken ░░░░░░░░ it and he got ░░░░░░░░ out GILLIBRAND Let s ░░░░░░░░ about Trump first He ░░░░░░░░ multiple allegations over a ░░░░░░░░ allegations of sexual assault ░░░░░░░░ sexual harassment He should ░░░░░░░░ because of that and ░░░░░░░░ should be held accountable ░░░░░░░░ have not heard that ░░░░░░░░ any Republicans NAVARRO I ░░░░░░░░ here GILLBRAND There you ░░░░░░░░ Start the trend He ░░░░░░░░ be held accountable And ░░░░░░░░ he s unwilling to ░░░░░░░░ Congress should be doing ░░░░░░░░ Where are the hearings ░░░░░░░░ all of these allegations ░░░░░░░░ sexual assault and sexual ░░░░░░░░ he should be held ░░░░░░░░ BEHAR What do you ░░░░░░░░ of this the Republican ░░░░░░░░ on these subjects GILLIBRAND ░░░░░░░░ it shouldn t be ░░░░░░░░ bipartisan issue We should ░░░░░░░░ having a very different ░░░░░░░░ about President Trump and ░░░░░░░░ should be holding him ░░░░░░░░ and having hearings and ░░░░░░░░ a space and voice ░░░░░░░░ these women who so ░░░░░░░░ have come forward But ░░░░░░░░ Trump has tried to ░░░░░░░░ all of them tried ░░░░░░░░ demean them tried to ░░░░░░░░ them BEHAR But why ░░░░░░░░ you push Franken out ░░░░░░░░ For me Al Franken ░░░░░░░░ a friend of mine ░░░░░░░░ did great work in ░░░░░░░░ Judiciary Committee so it ░░░░░░░░ really hard and really ░░░░░░░░ BEHAR How about a ░░░░░░░░ GILLIBRAND He s entitled ░░░░░░░░ a hearing but he ░░░░░░░░ not entitled to my ░░░░░░░░ joy BEHAR No Applause ░░░░░░░░ When you have eight ░░░░░░░░ eight credible allegations multiple ░░░░░░░░ I have a 14 ░░░░░░░░ old son and a ░░░░░░░░ year old son How ░░░░░░░░ I supposed to tell ░░░░░░░░ it s okay to ░░░░░░░░ a woman here or ░░░░░░░░ but not here Absolutely ░░░░░░░░ I m not going ░░░░░░░░ have that conversation That ░░░░░░░░ the wrong conversation to ░░░░░░░░ having Obviously what was ░░░░░░░░ against Al Franken is ░░░░░░░░ different than what s ░░░░░░░░ about Steve Wynn about ░░░░░░░░ Trump Very different I ░░░░░░░░ that What s alleged ░░░░░░░░ Roy Moore All different ░░░░░░░░ gradations BEHAR So you ░░░░░░░░ giving it an unequal ░░░░░░░░ GILLIBRAND No you re ░░░░░░░░ because it s not ░░░░░░░░ Joy to grab women ░░░░░░░░ their consent It s ░░░░░░░░ okay So why would ░░░░░░░░ want to hold our ░░░░░░░░ leaders to the lowest ░░░░░░░░ and not the highest ░░░░░░░░ We should be holding ░░░░░░░░ our elected leaders to ░░░░░░░░ highest standard And I ░░░░░░░░ t be a good ░░░░░░░░ and a good senator ░░░░░░░░ I am silenced just ░░░░░░░░ it s my friend ░░░░░░░░ cannot be silenced because ░░░░░░░░ s my friend Applause ░░░░░░░░ They agree with you ░░░░░░░░ just think Trump will ░░░░░░░░ admit it He s ░░░░░░░░ away with it and ░░░░░░░░ Republicans are giving him ░░░░░░░░ pass and we won ░░░░░░░░ give Al Franken a ░░░░░░░░ GILLIBRAND Our job is ░░░░░░░░ speak out to say ░░░░░░░░ to President Trump to ░░░░░░░░ it s not okay ░░░░░░░░ want accountability and transparency ░░░░░░░░ we want Congress specifically ░░░░░░░░ leaders to hold the ░░░░░░░░ and have that transparency ░░░░░░░░ we don t have ░░░░░░░░
