Biden The presidency is ░░░░░░░░ most powerful office in ░░░░░░░░ world It s an ░░░░░░░░ that not only tests ░░░░░░░░ judgment perhaps even more ░░░░░░░░ it s an office ░░░░░░░░ can test your character ░░░░░░░░ you not only face ░░░░░░░░ where you need the ░░░░░░░░ to exercise the full ░░░░░░░░ of the presidency you ░░░░░░░░ face moments where you ░░░░░░░░ the wisdom to respect ░░░░░░░░ limits of the power ░░░░░░░░ the office of the ░░░░░░░░ This nation was founded ░░░░░░░░ the principle that there ░░░░░░░░ no kings in America ░░░░░░░░ each of us is ░░░░░░░░ before the law No ░░░░░░░░ no one is above ░░░░░░░░ law not even the ░░░░░░░░ of the United States ░░░░░░░░ today s Supreme Court ░░░░░░░░ on presidential immunity that ░░░░░░░░ changed For all for ░░░░░░░░ practical purposes today s ░░░░░░░░ almost certainly means that ░░░░░░░░ are virtually no limits ░░░░░░░░ what a president can ░░░░░░░░ This is a fundamentally ░░░░░░░░ principle and it s ░░░░░░░░ dangerous precedent because the ░░░░░░░░ of the office will ░░░░░░░░ longer be constrained by ░░░░░░░░ law even including the ░░░░░░░░ Court of the United ░░░░░░░░ The only limits will ░░░░░░░░ self imposed by the ░░░░░░░░ alone This decision today ░░░░░░░░ continued the court s ░░░░░░░░ in recent years on ░░░░░░░░ wide range of long ░░░░░░░░ legal principles in our ░░░░░░░░ from gutting voting rights ░░░░░░░░ civil rights to taking ░░░░░░░░ a woman s right ░░░░░░░░ choose to today s ░░░░░░░░ that undermines the rule ░░░░░░░░ law of this nation ░░░░░░░░ four years ago my ░░░░░░░░ sent a violent mob ░░░░░░░░ the U S Capitol ░░░░░░░░ stop the peaceful transfer ░░░░░░░░ power We all saw ░░░░░░░░ with our own eyes ░░░░░░░░ sat there and watched ░░░░░░░░ happen that day An ░░░░░░░░ on the police the ░░░░░░░░ of the Capitol a ░░░░░░░░ literally hunting down the ░░░░░░░░ Speaker Nancy Pelosi gallows ░░░░░░░░ to hang the Vice ░░░░░░░░ Mike Pence I think ░░░░░░░░ s fair to say ░░░░░░░░ was one of the ░░░░░░░░ days in the history ░░░░░░░░ America Now the man ░░░░░░░░ sent that mob to ░░░░░░░░ U S Capitol is ░░░░░░░░ potential criminal conviction for ░░░░░░░░ happened that day And ░░░░░░░░ American people deserve to ░░░░░░░░ an answer in the ░░░░░░░░ before the upcoming election ░░░░░░░░ public has a right ░░░░░░░░ know the answer about ░░░░░░░░ happened on January 6th ░░░░░░░░ they re asked to ░░░░░░░░ again this year Now ░░░░░░░░ of today s decision ░░░░░░░░ is highly highly unlikely ░░░░░░░░ s a terrible disservice ░░░░░░░░ the people of this ░░░░░░░░ So now now the ░░░░░░░░ people will have to ░░░░░░░░ what the courts should ░░░░░░░░ been willing to do ░░░░░░░░ will not The American ░░░░░░░░ have to render a ░░░░░░░░ about Donald Trump s ░░░░░░░░ The American people must ░░░░░░░░ whether Donald Trump s ░░░░░░░░ on our democracy on ░░░░░░░░ 6th makes him unfit ░░░░░░░░ public office in the ░░░░░░░░ office in the land ░░░░░░░░ American people must decide ░░░░░░░░ Trump s embrace of ░░░░░░░░ to preserve his power ░░░░░░░░ acceptable Perhaps most importantly ░░░░░░░░ American people must decide ░░░░░░░░ they want to entrust ░░░░░░░░ president once again the ░░░░░░░░ to Donald Trump now ░░░░░░░░ he ll be more ░░░░░░░░ to do whatever he ░░░░░░░░ whenever he wants to ░░░░░░░░ it You know at ░░░░░░░░ outset of our nation ░░░░░░░░ was the character of ░░░░░░░░ Washington our first president ░░░░░░░░ defined the presidency He ░░░░░░░░ power was limited not ░░░░░░░░ And that power always ░░░░░░░░ with the people always ░░░░░░░░ over 200 years later ░░░░░░░░ today s Supreme Court ░░░░░░░░ once again it will ░░░░░░░░ on the character of ░░░░░░░░ men and women who ░░░░░░░░ that presidency that are ░░░░░░░░ to define the limits ░░░░░░░░ the power of the ░░░░░░░░ Because the law will ░░░░░░░░ longer do it I ░░░░░░░░ I will respect the ░░░░░░░░ of the presidential powers ░░░░░░░░ have for three and ░░░░░░░░ half years but any ░░░░░░░░ including Donald Trump will ░░░░░░░░ be free to ignore ░░░░░░░░ law I concur with ░░░░░░░░ Sotomayor s dissent today ░░░░░░░░ here s what she ░░░░░░░░ She said in every ░░░░░░░░ of official power the ░░░░░░░░ is now a king ░░░░░░░░ the law With fear ░░░░░░░░ our democracy I dissent ░░░░░░░░ of quote So should ░░░░░░░░ American people dissent I ░░░░░░░░ May God bless you ░░░░░░░░ And may God help ░░░░░░░░ our democracy Thank you ░░░░░░░░ may God protect our ░░░░░░░░ Reporter Mr President will ░░░░░░░░ drop out of the ░░░░░░░░
