CHELL Good morning Just ░░░░░░░░ regards to Cooper Union ░░░░░░░░ we got a couple ░░░░░░░░ key facts right before ░░░░░░░░ give you a quick ░░░░░░░░ We were aware of ░░░░░░░░ walk out protest rally ░░░░░░░░ the school yesterday School ░░░░░░░░ asked us to be ░░░░░░░░ our police were there ░░░░░░░░ start to finish The ░░░░░░░░ asked us that we ░░░░░░░░ be in plainclothes and ░░░░░░░░ s protocol that we ░░░░░░░░ gonna change and talk ░░░░░░░░ all the schools citywide ░░░░░░░░ that protocol There was ░░░░░░░░ direct threats there was ░░░░░░░░ damage and there s ░░░░░░░░ danger to any students ░░░░░░░░ that school Like I ░░░░░░░░ our cops were there ░░░░░░░░ day from start to ░░░░░░░░ they were with the ░░░░░░░░ protesters that were in ░░░░░░░░ school They were there ░░░░░░░░ the library The library ░░░░░░░░ they were not the ░░░░░░░░ were not barricaded The ░░░░░░░░ were open but closed ░░░░░░░░ school administrator thought it ░░░░░░░░ prudent to close the ░░░░░░░░ and place private security ░░░░░░░░ the protesters were coming ░░░░░░░░ the stairs So at ░░░░░░░░ 1 00 o clock ░░░░░░░░ protest started in front ░░░░░░░░ Cooper U it was ░░░░░░░░ walkout of students roughly ░░░░░░░░ pro Palestine about 20 ░░░░░░░░ students if you can ░░░░░░░░ parallel to each other ░░░░░░░░ Palestinian students were chanting ░░░░░░░░ Israeli students were silent ░░░░░░░░ went on for a ░░░░░░░░ hours but what happened ░░░░░░░░ people were passing by ░░░░░░░░ school community people were ░░░░░░░░ upset with their protest ░░░░░░░░ were starting to get ░░░░░░░░ from that point of ░░░░░░░░ Around 3 30 20 ░░░░░░░░ the 70 approximately 20 ░░░░░░░░ the 70 protesters from ░░░░░░░░ Palestinian side went into ░░░░░░░░ school Now they re ░░░░░░░░ to scan in they ░░░░░░░░ students let s be ░░░░░░░░ all the people here ░░░░░░░░ all students part of ░░░░░░░░ of institution As 20 ░░░░░░░░ went into the school ░░░░░░░░ re supposed to swipe ░░░░░░░░ but they kind of ░░░░░░░░ rushed past a swipe ░░░░░░░░ an administrative error that ░░░░░░░░ school is going to ░░░░░░░░ today from school officials ░░░░░░░░ there thee 20 students ░░░░░░░░ to go up to ░░░░░░░░ president s office which ░░░░░░░░ did They got inside ░░░░░░░░ office the waiting area ░░░░░░░░ you will and they ░░░░░░░░ chanting School officials at ░░░░░░░░ time with the police ░░░░░░░░ the scene and private ░░░░░░░░ felt safe and they ░░░░░░░░ to allow students to ░░░░░░░░ talking That was going ░░░░░░░░ about a half an ░░░░░░░░ When the 20 protesters ░░░░░░░░ down stairs at Cooper ░░░░░░░░ another school official heard ░░░░░░░░ coming down and that ░░░░░░░░ made the decision to ░░░░░░░░ s close the library ░░░░░░░░ we will put one ░░░░░░░░ our private security and ░░░░░░░░ the protesters pass For ░░░░░░░░ roughly 10 minutes approximately ░░░░░░░░ minutes they were banging ░░░░░░░░ the doors the library ░░░░░░░░ banging on some transparent ░░░░░░░░ that you see into ░░░░░░░░ library From that point ░░░░░░░░ protesters left The school ░░░░░░░░ thought it was important ░░░░░░░░ ask the Israeli students ░░░░░░░░ you need help getting ░░░░░░░░ Any Uber do you ░░░░░░░░ an Uber ride They ░░░░░░░░ No we feel safe ░░░░░░░░ re good and they ░░░░░░░░ left.”
