RUSH TRANSCRIPT Thank you ░░░░░░░░ for assembling today David ░░░░░░░░ first to you you ░░░░░░░░ been writing about this ░░░░░░░░ in detail What do ░░░░░░░░ think is the takeaway ░░░░░░░░ it comes to the ░░░░░░░░ verdict and the media ░░░░░░░░ of the takeaways is ░░░░░░░░ think parts of the ░░░░░░░░ dropped the ball on ░░░░░░░░ this case from the ░░░░░░░░ Right from the start ░░░░░░░░ were a couple of ░░░░░░░░ that were pretty immediately ░░░░░░░░ One was we knew ░░░░░░░░ Wisconsin self defense law ░░░░░░░░ and the other was ░░░░░░░░ was a lot of ░░░░░░░░ evidence out there in ░░░░░░░░ public domain What the ░░░░░░░░ evidence showed is Rittenhouse ░░░░░░░░ being chased before he ░░░░░░░░ fatal shots that he ░░░░░░░░ knocked to the ground ░░░░░░░░ he was attacked before ░░░░░░░░ fired fatal shots If ░░░░░░░░ knew Wisconsin s self ░░░░░░░░ law and you knew ░░░░░░░░ the rules around open ░░░░░░░░ you knew he was ░░░░░░░░ to have a strong ░░░░░░░░ But what a lot ░░░░░░░░ people did is they ░░░░░░░░ the foolishness of being ░░░░░░░░ therecklessness of being there ░░░░░░░░ itself 17 year old ░░░░░░░░ with a rifle going ░░░░░░░░ a social unrest that ░░░░░░░░ ridiculous 17 year olds ░░░░░░░░ t be doing that ░░░░░░░░ they conflated that with ░░░░░░░░ that followed and that ░░░░░░░░ a big mistake That ░░░░░░░░ not how juries look ░░░░░░░░ it Juries look at ░░░░░░░░ law They compare the ░░░░░░░░ to the facts and ░░░░░░░░ Wisconsin self defense law ░░░░░░░░ had a strong defense ░░░░░░░░ honestly it was pretty ░░░░░░░░ from the beginning that ░░░░░░░░ had a strong defense ░░░░░░░░ much is it about ░░░░░░░░ that were a test ░░░░░░░░ on the slogan about ░░░░░░░░ state lines And how ░░░░░░░░ information about this didn ░░░░░░░░ come out right away ░░░░░░░░ only came out at ░░░░░░░░ that then changed the ░░░░░░░░ I think trial fleshed ░░░░░░░░ out but there were ░░░░░░░░ awful lot of people ░░░░░░░░ knew the contours of ░░░░░░░░ defense early on The ░░░░░░░░ were out there early ░░░░░░░░ And I think there ░░░░░░░░ media outlets who just ░░░░░░░░ a disservice by not ░░░░░░░░ Rittenhouse was running away ░░░░░░░░ was somebody not aggressively ░░░░░░░░ people he was running ░░░░░░░░ Even under Wisconsin self ░░░░░░░░ law there s some ░░░░░░░░ versions of a duty ░░░░░░░░ retreat but you would ░░░░░░░░ pursued by the first ░░░░░░░░ he shot very aggressively ░░░░░░░░ kinds of things were ░░░░░░░░ amplified enough and so ░░░░░░░░ s one of the ░░░░░░░░ why I think the ░░░░░░░░ took millions of Americans ░░░░░░░░ surprise on its own ░░░░░░░░ Separate and apart from ░░░░░░░░ question of should he ░░░░░░░░ been there which I ░░░░░░░░ t think he should ░░░░░░░░ been there that you ░░░░░░░░ t give a 17 ░░░░░░░░ old a rifle and ░░░░░░░░ a 17 year old ░░░░░░░░ a rifle to go ░░░░░░░░ a riot That is ░░░░░░░░ what you do But ░░░░░░░░ things were being conflated ░░░░░░░░ the legal elements of ░░░░░░░░ crime itself.
