NY Sheriff on Refusing to Enforce Cuomo’s Holiday Restrictions: ‘It’s Unconstitutional’

KEILAR After Governor Cuomo ░░░░░░░░ a new order that ░░░░░░░░ limit private parties to ░░░░░░░░ people the sheriff in ░░░░░░░░ County took to social ░░░░░░░░ declaring he would not ░░░░░░░░ it Fulton County is ░░░░░░░░ upstate New York and ░░░░░░░░ sheriff Richard Giardino is ░░░░░░░░ of at least three ░░░░░░░░ York state sheriffs now ░░░░░░░░ they re not going ░░░░░░░░ enforce the Governor s ░░░░░░░░ Sheriff Giardino is joining ░░░░░░░░ now to talk about ░░░░░░░░ Sheriff I m so ░░░░░░░░ that you re with ░░░░░░░░ I imagine that enforcing ░░░░░░░░ order like this is ░░░░░░░░ that would pose some ░░░░░░░░ but you also of ░░░░░░░░ have critics who say ░░░░░░░░ should be doing it ░░░░░░░░ say you re not ░░░░░░░░ to enforce the order ░░░░░░░░ limits gatherings to 10 ░░░░░░░░ Tell us why GIARDINO ░░░░░░░░ I say I can ░░░░░░░░ enforce the order because ░░░░░░░░ think it s unconstitutional ░░░░░░░░ in order to explain ░░░░░░░░ it s unconstitutional I ░░░░░░░░ have to take a ░░░░░░░░ what ░░░░░░░░ thinks is best under ░░░░░░░░ circumstances but as a ░░░░░░░░ constitutional officer I have ░░░░░░░░ obligation to the constituents ░░░░░░░░ my county to follow ░░░░░░░░ law KEILAR And look ░░░░░░░░ think very clearly you ░░░░░░░░ very earnestly about that ░░░░░░░░ want to play devil ░░░░░░░░ advocate a little bit ░░░░░░░░ GIARDINO That s fine ░░░░░░░░ Someone might look at ░░░░░░░░ and say you know ░░░░░░░░ you have a lot ░░░░░░░░ people in a home ░░░░░░░░ you re causing community ░░░░░░░░ beyond that home You ░░░░░░░░ t expect if you ░░░░░░░░ in your home and ░░░░░░░░ were harming somebody to ░░░░░░░░ able to get legal ░░░░░░░░ You know what would ░░░░░░░░ say to an argument ░░░░░░░░ that You re not ░░░░░░░░ you re not permitted ░░░░░░░░ the law just because ░░░░░░░░ s in your home ░░░░░░░░ you can harm someone ░░░░░░░░ do a number of ░░░░░░░░ that could cause danger ░░░░░░░░ people beyond your home ░░░░░░░░ I like your argument ░░░░░░░░ you have to remember
