Tim Kaine on Illegal Immigrant Who Killed Stephanie Minter: He Should Be Prosecuted First

BALLASY: “I was just going to ask you real quick about the latest on the Stephanie Minter case. Do you think the guy, the illegal immigrant who committed the crime, the murderer, should be deported?”
KAINE: “He should definitely be prosecuted, prosecuted to the full extent of the law. And I'm not sure if he's deported he'll really face the punishment that he should face. You know, if you do a deportation now, what's the guarantee that he would really face the severe consequence for what he's done? So I think that he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and then possibly deported after that. But I wouldn't want him to escape accountability for the crime.”
