Bill Nye: Fracking Is Causing Earthquakes in the ‘Middle of North America’

‘What I am hoping is we can appeal to people’s want for jobs’

NYE: "But the fossil fuel industry is inherently troublesome because they produce these greenhouse gases, and the coal washing solvents and so on are really trouble. And the produced water is the verb in the oil field. You know, I used to work in the oil fields in the 1980s. That’s what they call the water that comes up with oil. You have to put it some place and it is generally pumped back down to the ground and this has led to earthquakes in the middle of North America of all things. But we can solve these problems now."
