EPA Head: A War on Coal Is ‘Exactly’ What We’re Doing

‘Oh, great’

EPA Head: A War on Coal Is ‘Exactly’ What We’re Doing (National Review)

Environmental Protection Agency administrator Gina McCarthy seemed to confirm fears that the Obama administration is launching a “war on coal” through newly announced regulations. Appearing on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday, McCarthy agreed with Maher’s suggestion that the agency’s regulations represent a war on the fossil fuel.

“Last week, [you] announced, I think it was called ‘the clean power program,’” Maher said. “Some people called it ‘a war on coal’ — I hope it is a war on coal, is it?”

“Actually, EPA is all about fighting against pollution and fighting for public health,” McCarthy responded. “That’s exactly what this is.”

“Oh, great,” Maher said.

“Exactly,” she confirmed.
