Chris Murphy: I’m Voting No on Gorsuch Based on the Merits

MURPHY: "Well, I’m going to vote no on Gorsuch based on the merits. I’d recommend that my colleagues make up their mind as to whether they think that Gorsuch is going to be a qualified Supreme Court justice or not. But it certainly does compromise Trump’s ability to get anything done regardless of how Democrats act. I would submit that part of the reason why the health care bill fell apart is because when Trump got involved, it frankly made it much less popular, right? How does a bill that’s only been out there for 17 days get down to 17 percent approval? Well, it’s in part because his legitimacy has been harmed by this drip, drip, drip of connections to Russia. So I think it’s a question that’s already out there regardless of how Democrats act."
