MSNBC: There’s Precedent for Trump Admin Trying to Block Sally Yates from Testifying

‘It hands over a huge talking point to people like Chuck Schumer’

EXCERPT:

JACKSON: "You look live at the White House now. Kelsey and Tamara, as though we haven’t had enough to talk about today. Do you agree with Jonathan here that Sally Yates is being almost elevated now and this could, as you put it, give birth to a billion conspiracy theories?"
KEITH: "It’s not new for the White House to claim executive privilege."
JACKSON: "Not at all. And let's put that in context, too, because that is something that we've seen other presidents do."
KEITH: "Absolutely. We've seen the Obama Administration do it.  We've seen lots of presidents claim executive privilege. And she did go to the White House to talk to them as a lawyer for the government representing the executive branch."
