Cornyn: Gorsuch Nomination a ‘Good Chance’ to Stop the ‘Partisan Warfare’ of Judicial Nominations

‘You may not have liked the outcome of the election, but President Trump gets the opportunity to nominate’

EXCERPT:

CORNYN: "Before the Bush Administration, the second Bush Administration, it was really routine, almost, these confirmation hearings. I guess they started with Bob Bork, but they have become so politicized and unfortunately, it’s sort of like the Hatfields and McCoys, we have been feuding so long, people forgot when and how it actually started. I think it’s an opportunity for all of us to examine the man, his record and to say this is a type of person who should serve on the Supreme Court. You may not have liked the outcome of the election, but President Trump gets the opportunity to nominate an individual and he has. He’s made a good choice, in my view. I think this is a good chance to stop the sort of partisan warfare over judicial nominations, at least."
