‘We Cannot Trust Russia’: Nikki Haley Says Trump Should Take Election Interference Seriously (Mediaite)

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley gave an interview for NBC’s Today, where she seemed to contrast President Trump by taking a strong stance against Russia.

Haley spoke with Matt Lauer, where she discussed State Department budget cuts and defended Trump’s travel ban just hours before it was blocked for the second time. Lauer eventually brought up Haley’s tough talk about Russia, even as Trump has shown reluctance to criticize Vladimir Putin (despite intelligence reports indicating that the Russian president meddled with the 2016 election).

“He’s very open-minded about working with everyone. He doesn’t want to cut anyone off. What he has allowed me to do is when I see something wrong, I call them out on it,” Haley said. “I will always do that. But, at the same time, if I see an opportunity to work on something with them, like we do with ISIS and Daesh, we will absolutely do that.”
