NBC: U.S. Asking North Korea to Release UVA Student Detained 1 Year Ago

The State Department is asking the North Korean government to immediately release University of Virginia student Otto Warmbier

EXCERPT:

COBIELLA (voice-over): "With Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Japan this morning, the State Department sayd it's, quote, 'hard to say' whether Warmbier’s case will come up. But 'we never lose sight that he’s being held unjustly...and continue to press for his release'. And former Governor Richardson told NBC news that he was allowed to travel with the delegation to North Korea late last year. He said he wasn’t given access to Warmbier, but they put forward a proposal for his release. Richardson said that the North Koreans didn’t say yes, they didn’t say no. Matt and Savannah, they simply didn’t respond."
