State Dept: China Silent on Biden’s Innovation Remarks (The Washington Free Beacon)

China has not complained to the State Department over Joe Biden’s disparaging remarks about their economy, according to State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki.

On Wednesday, Biden informed graduates at the U.S. Air Force Academy commencement that he is no believer in Chinese ingenuity, challenging them: “name me one innovative project, one innovative change, one innovative product that has come out of China.”

At a brief Thursday afternoon, Psaki was asked “if people in the State Department think that this is an appropriate description of China, which is, after all, the inventor of quite a few things, gunpowder, printing press, the compass.”

Psaki evaded the question, responding “I’m happy to go take a look at the full context of comments…”

“You haven’t heard any complaints from the Chinese about this?” pressed Associated Press reporter Matt Lee.
