Eric Cantor: Mr. President, ‘Please Join Us in Helping America Work Again’

‘Over 200 bills still sitting in the Senate, many of them are bipartisan bills ... but yet, Harry Reid and the Democratically-controlled Senate refuses to take them up’

Cantor: Mr. President, Let’s Get America Working Again (Washington Free Beacon)

Rep. Eric Cantor (R., Va.) called on President Obama to help fix the current economic situation Thursday. His statement came on the heels of news that the U.S. economy contracted in the first quarter of this year.

“We have been here week in and week out and the House is working. We are trying to focus on getting people back to work. We are trying to focus on an America that works with solutions…” Cantor said.

More than 200 bills are waiting to be taken up in the Senate. Of those 200 bills, many are bipartisan and some have Democratic lead sponsors, but Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) and other Democrats have not taken them up. Cantor called Reid and the Democrats’ refusal “outrageous.”
