Ellison on Anti-Semitism Charges: ‘Those Are False Allegations’

‘I have a strong history of interfaith dialogue and communication’

RUSH EXCERPT:
ELLISON: "Those are false allegations. I have 300 rabbis and Jewish community members signed a letter supporting me. I don’t have anything to say about this race but we know Keith and he’s a good man and always has been. A week ago in New York City with a Jewish organization that stands up for refugees. They’re saying we were once refugees and stood out in New York and demanded we have respect for refugees now. When I spoke at that, invoked the memory of the St. Louis where Jews fleeing the Third Reich were turned away in Cuba with the knowledge of our government and sent back, many ended up perishing in the holocaust. I have a strong history of interfaith dialogue and communication. That’s why in my own community, I have strong support from the Jewish community. These are smears and we’re fighting back every day with people who know us. But it’s critical to speak up against anti-Semitism. We have Jewish cemeteries defaced and desecrated and communities getting bomb threats. We have to stand up for the Jewish community. Right now. That’s what the Democratic Party is all about."
