Karl Rove: Hillary Clinton Is 'Old And Stale' (RealClearPolitics)

KARL ROVE: Inevitability is a problem in and of itself, from several perspectives. First of all, people don't like people who seem to have it already made. They want to see a scrapper and a fighter. And if it looks like you are the candidate, people pick at your faults. So being the front runner as advantages but disadvantages when you are this far out in front.

The second problem with inevitability is it is easy to fall into being nostalgic and she talks about how good things were when Bill was in the office, how the economy was better, which helps her but hurts her because it makes her look like yesterday. Its all about what happened back there in the 90s. So we are 20 years past the point in which Bill Clinton was elected president. In American politics, there is a sense you want to be new, fresh and not something old and stale.
