Va. Gov.: Deporting Illegals Creates ‘Chilling Effect’ for New Immigrants

Ice enforcement should be doing their job and I have tremendous respect for them to make sure we continue to keep our community safe. What you can do is have a chilling effect, drive people under ground. If you hit someone with a disease they are not going to come out and get treatment. You are going to have individuals who will not come out and work with law enforcement. And it can have a crippling on our economy. I have already lost two site visits in Virginia. I am trying to create jobs here and I'm worried about the over-extension of what we are doing with law enforcement when we don't have rights to stop people and they are doing it and it will have a chilling effect on this country."
