McMullin: Senate GOP Won’t Hold Trump Accountable on Russia Ties

‘I’m not convinced that the Republicans are willing to hold Donald Trump accountable’

EXCERPT:

MCMULLIN: "I think the Senate Intel Committee already has a lot of work on its plate and it has limited resources and I’m not convinced that the Republicans are willing to hold Donald Trump accountable in the normal sort of structure of things, simply because they haven’t done so through the race, after the election and now, after inauguration. So I think they are doing the bare minimum now, or my concern is that they may be doing the bare minimum now just to check the box but not really hold President Trump accountable at this time of serious national security need. But there are things they can do. What I would like to see them do is establish a special select committee to investigate Russian influence in our elections and then also ties from -- from President Trump’s campaign and post-campaign team to the Russian government. That’s what I think needs to happen."
