Michelle Obama Takes on GOP’s Efforts to Weaken School Lunch Standards (Mediaite)

First lady Michelle Obama is joining the fight against congressional Republicans on Tuesday and will come out strongly against their efforts to weaken the strict school lunch standards she helped implement. That GOP effort is supported by some members of the food industry and school administrators who say that the new standards are both too expensive and provide kids with food that they do not want to purchase. 

ABC News’ White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl reported on Tuesday that Obama will be “speaking out” against the efforts of congressional Republicans who are acting on behalf of food industry professionals to roll back the school lunch standards instituted in 2010.
