Manchin to Fellow Democrats: Meet with Judge Gorsuch

‘If you love this country and the democracy we have, and the three branches of equal government, the judiciary cannot operate with eight members of the Supreme Court’

EXCERPT:

MANCHIN: "So, sit down and talk to the gentleman. Find out, ask the questions. You can ask anything you want. They are very informal, they come to your office. There is nobody there but just you and Judge Gorsuch. Ask him these questions, see what type of answers, see if you're comfortable with the response. You know, we want to make sure, first of all, if you love this country and the democracy we have and the three branches of equal government, the judiciary cannot operate with eight members of the Supreme Court. It's as simple as that. So, we're going to have to find somebody that we agree on. And I do support the 60-vote rule because I think it should be — most should be a bipartisan effort."
