Earlier this week, Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) went out of her way during a Committee on Foreign Relations hearing to point out that Boko Haram, the militant Islamist group in Nigeria that kidnapped more than 200 girls, has nothing to do with Islam.

JACKSON: “The message that all the Muslim leaders who have spoken out, whether religious leaders or political leaders have passed is that this is not about Islam, and I think that’s a very important point. Boko Haram’s philosophy is not an Islamic philosophy.”
