Robert Gates: Brennan’s Attack on Trump Wasn’t Helpful
RUSH EXCERPT:
GATES: "I don’t think it’s helpful. I think it’s very important to have a good relationship and a relationship of trust between the president and the folks at the CIA. They work for him, not vice versa. I think it’s up to them to show him the value they can bring to his decision-making process. I am pretty confident based on the conversations that I had with Mike Pompeo, he knows how to fix that relationship. It’s a great asset for the president. And they just need to figure out this relationship. It’s basically the agency figuring out how best to support the president. Every president has a different approach on how he wants to get intelligence information. It is up to the agency to adjust to the president’s needs and desires, not the other way around."
