Jansing: Emotional to See Obama ‘Getting on Marine One that Is No Longer Marine One’

‘He will be going, of course, to Palm Springs, a place that is a favorite of his, for golf’

RUSH EXCERPT:

"The other thing I would note that struck me, because I’ve spent a lot of time over the last couple of weeks talking to staffers who have spent much of the last eight years of their lives in the White House, and some of them even before that, this must be the most emotional moment at least in terms of sheer imagery to see him getting on marine one, that is no longer marine one, waving good-bye for the very last time, going to joint base Andrews, and seeing that helicopter in the air flying off at the young ages of 55 and 53 to their post presidential lives. He’s been clear about the fact he’s not going to set an alarm, but he’s also been clear about the fact there will be times when he will feel he has to speak out, and he already has put out a website, he wants people to come onto, and bring their ideas out. He will be going, of course, to Palm Springs, a place that is a favorite of his, for golf. They’re going to have some down time and then probably jump back in to speaking, to spending some time together with each other, and with their daughters. Brian?"
