Spicer: Trump Will Go to the Intel Community and Thank Them for Their Service

‘The president continues to be humbled by the people who serve this nation’

EXCERPT:

SPICER: "I mentioned yesterday during the briefing that the president continues to be humbled by the people who serve this nation and the work that they do so many times without the proper recognition for the sacrifices that they make in terms of time. So many of them could be making more in the private sector but they continue to serve this government. And I think the enthusiasm to serve in government and be part of this administration has gotten greater by the day. There are so many people that had submitted a resume or said, 'I want to go back into public service or join the military,' because they’ve been inspired by the President-elect’s message. And so I think not just the CIA, but several departments, he’s going to visit and make sure that he tells them how much he appreciates their service to our country, their commitment to enacting an agenda of change, and recognize how much they really do for this country. So it's not just going to be the CIA but I think you’ll see a lot of activity throughout not just the first week, the first month, and the first year of making that a priority to thank so many of the people who serve our government, and again, not just federal servants but so many people who volunteer their time in various ways to serve this nation, both paid and non-paid."
