Royce: ‘NATO Is Critical to the Defense and Security of the United States’

ROYCE: "NATO is critical to the defense and security of the United States. But NATO is in need of being reconstructed in a way because under NATO today, you have commitments towards a defense burden made by our European allies which they don’t keep. So we’re going to need to leverage them into stepping it up and making their share of the payments. And that’s what I think the President-elect is trying to do right now, is to get them to commit so that the lion’s share of the cost isn't always on the backs of the United States. That’s part of the strategy."
