CNN’s Don Lemon Hesitates to Call Chicago Torture Video ‘Evil,’ Blames Bad Parenting Instead (Mediaite)

CNN host Don Lemon pushed back Wednesday night after a conservative panelist labeled four Chicagoans torturing a mentally handicapped man and posting the video live on Facebook “evil.”

Daily Caller columnist Matt Lewis called the video “sickening” and said the assault– during which the assailants chanted “F*** white people” and “F** Donald Trump“– was just another example of the problem of evil. “At the end of the day, you just try to wrap your head around evil,“ he said. “That’s what this is: it’s evil, it’s brutality, it’s man’s inhumanity to man.”

While denouncing the video, Lemon wasn’t willing to go that far. “I don’t think it’s evil,” he said. “I don’t think it’s evil. I think these are young people and I think they have bad home training.
