Painter: If Trump Doesn’t ‘Divest’ Himself of His Businesses, ‘It’s Going To Be a Disaster’

‘Lots of people nipping at his heels in every part of his business empire that he refuses to divest from, so kind of a scandal after scandal’

RUSH EXCERPT:
PAINTER: "It’s going to be a disaster. You’re going to have private lawsuits. As you said with the New York Attorney General, lots of people nipping at his heels in every part of his business empire that he refuses to divest from, so kind of a scandal after scandal. Hearings on the Hill. It’s going to be a mess and interfere with his ability to be an effective president. He needs to focus on being president. There’s a lot of work to do. And the last thing we need is the president who’s indebted to the financial services sector when that’s where the trouble was back in 2008. We certainly don’t need another financial crisis. It’s going to be his job to prevent it. And not to have to worry about his business empire and also not to worry about his buildings all over the world with his name on them and protecting them from terrorists and all the other issues. That’s not what he should be doing. He should focus on being president of the United States."
