TUR: "He did have consistency in some idealistic ways. You could tell he didn’t have a lot of policy depth in what he was saying. While he would talk about something like Medicare or would talk about something like health care reform, he wouldn’t realize what he was describing. That’s what got him into trouble especially with the Republicans. He was often going against the long-established Republican talking points and platforms. That’s where the inconsistencies rose. When he would try and dial it back and say that’s not what I believe, it’s oftentimes what he said in the aftermath of the comments that made it a little murkiers than it may have seem initially."
