Bartiromo on Report 40% of Millennials Are Living at Home: This Is a ‘Troubling Signal’

‘Even though the national unemployment rate is below 5 percent and it has been improving, people are not feeling it’

EXCERPT:

BARTIROMO: "Look, I think it’s expensive, and they can’t afford it. You know, this is a troubling signal because the problem is unemployment for young people is not doing -- is -- is high, higher than you want to see. Even though the national unemployment rate is below 5 percent and it has been improving, people are not feeling it. They haven’t seen their wages moving, and Millennials in particular, don’t have the money as a young person to get their own apartments. This is a problem. Because, if you don’t have a job at 20 years old, 25 years old, it’s a vicious cycle, it follows you. You need to get a job to get another job and a better job. It’s a very troubling report, I think, that so many people are living with their parents because they can’t afford it."
