MSNBC: Trump Taps Carl Icahn for Special Adviser on Reg. Overhaul, Peter Navarro

‘President-elect has yet to name a VA secretary and agriculture secretary’

EXCERPT:

WELKER: "A couple other names we’re looking at today. Carl Icahn appointed to essentially be a special adviser to help the president-elect overhaul regulations. That’s getting a little bit more scrutiny. Carl Icahn, of course, a billionaire investor. A lot of folks looking that and saying, well, if the president-elect wants to drain the swamp, why is he putting so many billionaires adding so many to his team. And the pushback on that is look, he’s an outsider. He’s someone who is successful but who will bring a fresh set of eyes to Washington, D.C.. And then finally economists Peter Navarro. He has been a sharp critic of China. He’s going to head the White House national trade counsel. This is raising some eyebrows among some economists, you might imagine why. They are concerned because he’s been such a sharp critic of China, could he in fact help to start a trade war? So, those are the names that we’re tracking here from Palm Beach Today."
