State Dept: ‘Troubling’ Turkish Officer Used His Badge to Get Access to the Ambassador

KIRBY: "Very troubling indeed that he was able to get in there. You would think the ambassador being anywhere would be surrounded by his security folks and I am not saying they were not there, but as far as we know he is an off-duty police officer and he was able to use his police credentials to gain access to the venue. Now, how he got to such close proximity to the ambassador, I think they're still trying to work that out but apparently he was able to use his police credentials to gain access."
