MSNBC: IMF Chief Christine Lagarde Found Guilty for 2008 Payout to French Tycoon

‘The guilty verdict could destabilize the IMF’

MITCHELL: "In France today a shocking verdict against one of the most powerful women in the world, IMF head Christine Lagarde credited around the world with helping rebuild the shattered global financial system in the years after the collapse and now critical to the Greek bailout and the global relationship with the incoming Trump administration. Lagarde was convicted today of criminal charges stemming from payments she approved in arbitration case when she was France’s finance minister under former president Nicolas Sarkozy. The judge did not impose a fine or jail time. The guilty verdict could destabilize the IMF which has had more than its share of scandals."
