Ignatius: Arab Leaders ‘Eager’ to Work with Trump and See Him as a ‘Welcome Break’ from Obama

‘They see Trump as a person even tougher on Iran than they are’

EXCERPT:

IGNATIUS: “But the Arab — it’s certainly true that the Arab leaders I’ve talked to over the last month, since the election are eager to work with Trump and see Trump as a welcome break from Obama. They did not like Obama. They see Trump as a person even tougher on Iran than they are. You do have to remember that in the Arab world even now the Palestinian issue may be diminished in importance, but if Friedman comes in and, you know, well, capital moves to Jerusalem, it will be difficult for people like King Abdullah in Jordan to ride that storm. And it’s one thing Trump has to think about; how much — how many problems do I want to cause for my potential allies in this part of the world?”
