Former CIA Analyst: Putin Gains From Election Hack Hysteria Even If He Didn't Really Do It (RealClearPolitics)

Former Senior CIA Analyst Mark M. Lowenthal tells CNN's Christiane Amanpour that the media's freakout about Putin's election hacking is exactly what the Russian president wanted.

LOWENTHAL: Even if Russia hadn't done it at this point, they've gained a tremendous advantage just because people are saying they've done it. So for Putin's goals, he's already won, just by people thinking he's done it. He wants influence, he wants to be reaccepted as a great power.
